History

We were looking for a beautiful place to start a Bed and Breakfast, and in 2013 the Johannesberg monument caught our eye, situated next to the former Zuiderzeestraatweg highway. A distinctive house in a rural environment, with a great view and with the gorgeous fortified city Elburg just around the corner. Beautiful sunrises in the morning, and often wonderful skies during the day as well. And if you also consider the central location if you want to go hiking/cycling/shopping/exploring culture … etc., this place had everything we needed to start a B&B.

On 4 July 2014 we received the key to Johannesberg, on the exact day that the first stone of Johannesberg was placed 120 years ago. Our adventure was starting! Since that day we have been busy renovating, so we could live there as soon as possible. To get a part of the house ready to serve breakfast in, and to realise an extra building for the B&B rooms. The whole yard also had to be torn up, so we could make it the way we wanted. Since the springtime of 2016 we have been ready to receive you as a guest. And we are so excited about that!!
